Strawberries

Benefits of strawberries include brightening the skin, protect your skin against free radicals, and balance oil levels within the skin due to the vitamin C. Ellagic acid, an antioxidant naturally produced in strawberries, can help prevent wrinkles and fine lines by protecting collagen from UV damage. They can also help exfoliate the skin because they contain alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) which help remove dead skin cells.

Blueberries

Containing vitamin C, E, and resveratrol;  all of which protect against environmental stressors such as UV radiation. These berries also contain antioxidants which can help reduce the signs of aging from free radicals that may lead to wrinkles and fine lines. The antioxidants will also help to reduce inflammation within the skin barrier. Blueberries also boost collagen within your skin, this is because they are rich in anthocyanins, a chemical that is required for collagen synthesis.

Lemons

The vitamin C content in lemons act as an antioxidant and its citric acid can aid in brightening, reduce oiliness, and act as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells and dry patches. This is how lemons promote a brighter and radiant look to the skin.

Carrots

Due to their high content of beta-carotene, an antioxidant which the body converts to vitamin A once absorbed, carrots protect against sun damage and free radicals, carrots promote collagen production, and improves skin elasticity and texture.

Spinach

Spinach is full of anti-aging properties because of the amount of vitamin K it has! Vitamin K can help heal scars, reduce inflammation, and brighten dark spots. It also contains vitamin A and C which will help even out your skin tone. Spinach contains chlorophyll and can aid in keeping bacteria at bay and unclog pores.

Hibiscus

 

Hibiscus is known for moisturizing, promoting cell turnover, reducing hyperpigmentation, potentially aiding in wound healing and reducing inflammation. Hibiscus contains mucilage which is how it aids in moisturizing the skin. Hibiscus is a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which aid in removing dead skin cells and promote cell turnover, promoting a smoother and brighter complexion

Turmeric

 

The active ingredient in turmeric is called curcumin. Curcumin has been discovered to play a role in collagen synthesis, promoting tissue regeneration and delaying the visible signs of aging.

Cacao Beans

Cacao beans aid in hydration, increasing blood circulation within the skin, and reducing inflammation. They contain antioxidants that help prevent the skin from from free radicals and oxidative stress. They also contain amino acids that boost collagen production which can help maintain skin firmness and elasticity. The antioxidants promote the formation of new skin cells that will aid in concealing fine lines/wrinkles, keeping the skin soft and supple through its omega-6 fatty acid properties.

Dandelion Root

Dandelion root is believed to have several skin benefits including anti-inflammatory properties which can assist in soothing redness and swelling from skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and rosacea. Its antioxidant protection against sun damage and also the ability to reduce appearance of wrinkles due to its vitamin content including vitamins A, C, and E. Dandelion root also has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties to help clear clogged pores and fight acne-causing bacteria.

Lavender

Lavender has numerous benefits as it can even out the skin tone by reducing inflammation and redness. The herb has soothing properties in addition to its refreshing scent. The herbal extracts have antiseptic properties that can aid blood circulation, which is necessary for skin regeneration.

Comfrey

Comfrey is very rich in allantoin, a natural moisturizer that protects skin cells. The sap from the plant forms a film over the skin barrier and locks in moisture, promoting rapid cell growth and soothing skin irritations. Rapid cell growth replaces the skin’s dull and dead outer layer, it is a process that hydrates and regenerates the skin over time. This process shows improvement in cell regeneration within four to seven days.

Chamomile

Chamomile contains an alpha-bisabolol which is an influential compound that can reduce the development of wrinkles. It also heals skin irritations such as acne, cuts, burns, and eczema faster. This is because of its healing components: terpenoids (including alpha-bisabolol and chamazulene), flavonoids (like apigenin), and coumarins.

Aloe

Green tea extract is primarily used to fight against eye bags and reduce puffiness in the face. It works well for this because of its caffeine content.

Despite the obvious hydration properties coconut oil provides, it also provides a plethora of other benefits for the skin. Coconut oil can act as a good anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, exfoliant, and wound healer. It also provides improvement of the skin tone and protection over the skin barrier against UV damage by strengthening the skin itself. This will also prevent further progression of wrinkles and fine lines.

Collagen (Bovine)

Collagen is a fibrous protein that forms the foundation of skin. Collagen is the holy grail of skincare. It provides a healthy glow to the skin while also reducing wrinkles and dark spots. Collagen improves the elasticity and firmness of the skin by helping skin cells adhere to one another.
